Leg Warmers

Have you seen any movies on dancing? Seen those footless and thicker sock-like things that they wear called as Leg warmers? Well, you will be interested to make a fashion statement out of them that looks quite chic and classy depending on how you mix-n-match it.

History

Fashion statement or sports wear? A pinch of history will tell you that they started with the ballet dancers, but are also used in sports.

Materials

A conventional leg warmer is of cotton, wool or synthetic fibers. Leg Warmers made of camel hair, Old English Sheep Dog hair or Chenille are also available.

Sizes

These Leg warmers are available in varying lengths though not usually in widths because of the limited stretching ability of the material. Don’t worry; limitation in sizes doesn’t really affect the cool fashion statement that they make.

Fashion Styles

Depending on whether you pair these Leg warmers up with jeans or skirt, or boots or shoes, they give a sophisticated look, chic and ruggedly cool.

1. Leg warmers paired with jeans can be scrunched down towards the ankle, paired with rumpled shirts and boots. But, remember, in this case the leg warmers should be right over your boots and not show your ankles.

2. With nice classy jeans, leg warmers can be paired with high-heeled boots or slip-ons with high heels to give a classy sophisticated look. The leg warmers are positioned in such a manner that only the toe and the heel are seen.

3. With skirts, make sure you go for a mini-skirt, girls. Don’t scrunch down those leg warmers and wear them high over your thighs above your knees and stretched to your ankles. Use either flats or shoes with small heels.

4. Even spandex pants can be used with Leg warmers. They give a very classic look that was very popular during the 80’s. In this look, you use extra-large shirts with a belt on and the leg warmers towards the ankles and as compressed as possible. Variety of looks can be possible with the same combination as a lot of color combinations are possible.

5. You are a creative person? Then you can use two pairs of Leg warmers to give a very unique colorful look that can be teamed with either pants or skirts with one pair stretched and the other scrunched down. Just make sure you don’t overdo the color contrast.
